Anglers will be fishing in local waters this summer, as the Great Lakes Super Series – Southwestern Ontario’s bass fishing tournament circuit – has announced its 2022 schedule will include Sarnia as the second of their three qualifying tournaments.
The event will take place Aug. 6 from Sarnia Bay Marina.
Super Series directors identified Sarnia as one of their favoured locations following last year’s championships, which took place over Labour Day weekend.
“We want the anglers to experience incredible fishing in southern Ontario and Sarnia was an obvious choice for us to hold a tournament,” said tournament director Bill Hamilton. “It is a beautiful city with a beautiful waterfront. It allows the (Super Series) to not only accommodate a full field of teams on the water, but also gives the anglers an opportunity to bring their families for the weekend to enjoy a variety of activities that this great community has to offer.”
