As summer approaches, several local fishing derbies and bird-watching tours have announced dates for upcoming events.
Fishing the Canal with the Kids
The 3rd Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby is to happen along the banks of the Erie Canal (also known as the “Clyde River”) in Clyde, NY.
Date: Saturday, June 1, 2024
Time: 8 a.m.
Admission Fee: Free!
The event, sponsored by local service organization, Clyde SPAN and the Clyde-Savannah School District will begin at 8 a.m. The weigh-in will be at 11:30 a.m. followed by prizes and a free lunch. Youth ages 7-15 are invited to register for this free and fun event. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish in different categories.
