ALEXANDRIA — The Polar Plunge raises awareness and money for more than 8,000 Special Olympic Athletes in Minnesota. Learn what’s new at an upcoming one-hour, informative, virtual Listen and Learn event on Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 10 to 11 a.m.
The Polar Plunge is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Law Enforcement continues to grow the program and look for new ideas to raise money for Special Olympic athletes. The 2023 plunge will include a couple of those new ideas such as a Bass Fishing Tournament and a Super Plunge.
Join Keith Melrose, police sergeant, and Darcie Zirbes, ACCESS Team and detective, both with the Alexandria Police Department, to learn what an “Alexandria” twist looks like for the 2023 Polar Plunge activities and why they are so important.
