Major bass fishing tournament returns to Tuscaloosa

The Alabama Bass Tactix National Invitational Tournament is back in Tuscaloosa on June 7 and June 8.

Bass Tactix Alabama Director Shane Mansell said he expects this to be a big tournament. Students from Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana are participating in the tournament on the Black Warrior River.

Participants can chose from four bodies of water on the Black Warrior River: Bankhead, Holt, Riverview or the Oliver Lock and Dam area.

Tuscaloosa County High School is the headquarters for the tournament. Participants will begin at sunrise both days and conclude their days at the headquarters, where they will weigh in their catches.

Teams consist of two youth anglers and a boat captain in each boat. Participants must be a member of The Bass Federation and have a TBF number. Boat captains are required to have a $100,000 liability insurance on their boat.
