Louisiana High School Fishing Team May Have Broken World Record

A high school fishing team out of Bossier Parish may have set a world record after their impressive haul this past weekend in the Louisiana High School Bass Nation Caney Lake “Hawgfest”.

I was checking out the standings to see where some friends of mine’s kids finished. After I found their names and how well they did, it got me wondering, “dang, if they did this well, I wonder what first place did?”

Not knowing a whole lot about bass fishing tournaments, I wasn’t too sure what a good amount was. But, I am smart enough to figure out that winning by more than 13 pounds is pretty impressive.

That’s exactly what the team of Mason McCormick and Alexis Virgillito did. The Bossier Parish Bass Team caught what could be the heaviest stringer ever caught in a high school fishing tournament.
