LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — The 6th annual Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation’s Commissioners’ (AGFC) Cup bass fishing tournament happened last Saturday in Hot Springs.
Anglers aged 8 to 18 were divided into seventy-four teams according to the AGFC.
Bennet Bullard, an angler from the Junior Division posted the heaviest five-fish limit which stands at 14.40 pounds of fish on the scales, and a 4.70-pound kicker. It was considered the largest single fish of the tournament.
Lures for topwater such as the Heddon Zara Spook were commonly used at the competition, however, Bullard’s big capture was caught by a YUM Money Minnow swimbait.
All participants were accompanied by a captain who was handling the boat.
Ely Hagans and Cole Pennington of Southside High School out of Bee Branch won the top grand prize in the Senior Division, where a five-fish limit was established. The maximum weight for a group of five was set to 13.92 pounds.
