The Upstate New York ice fishing scene continues to heat up as temperatures continue to drop this winter.

A smiling Dave Gregory, of Clifton Park, N.Y., holds an impressive lake trout he pulled through the ice on Lake George recently. He said it measured 36 1/2 inches and weighed 10.9 pounds.”On a jig pole in 65 foot of water. It was an amazing experience,” he said. “I was using a Keitech 3-inch swim bait on 3/8 green jig head.”

Christian Thompson, of Watkins Glen, holds an impressive, 22-inch smallmouth bass he caught and released recently on Oneida Lake. He said he caught it on blue jig with wax worms, and that it weighed 5 1/2 pounds.

Walter Kemblowski, of Marietta, N.Y., with a 47 inch tiger muskie he caught through the ice fishing on Otisco Lake. It weighed 26 pounds, 10 ounces. Read more about this fish:…
