In what some fishing industry insiders consider an upset, a fishing lure actually won the Best in Show distinction at the world’s largest fishing tackle trade show, the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST).
The Berkley PowerBait Gilly, a soft plastic, bluegill-shaped lure infused with the flavor of PowerBait, was awarded the distinction July 22 marking the first time a lure has won the trade show’s highest honor. Over 680 products were part of the ICAST’s new product showcase which awards “best of” honors in 30 separate categories. Gilly won the soft freshwater lure category July 21.
