The City of Jacksonville is shooting fireworks from five locations on July 4th, but those are hardly the only fireworks shows planned. Weather permitting, the night skies around Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia will light up with celebratory fireworks shows over the long holiday weekend. 

Here’s where you can celebrate America’s 246th birthday with parades, watermelon eating contests, car shows and some big booms.

Saturday, July 2

• Lake Butler Rotary Club 2022 Independence Celebration Event: Saturday at Lake Butler Lakeside Park. Bass fishing tournament, 9 a.m. classic car show, fireworks at dusk.

• Fireworks and Family Fun: 6 p.m. at the Northeast Florida Fairgrounds in Callahan. Combined celebration with Callahan and Hilliard with live music, food trucks, fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

• 2022 Independence Day Celebration: 5 p.m. at Memorial Park in Macclenny. Live music, vendor booths, fireworks at 9 p.m.
