The city of Northport and Tuscaloosa Tourism & Sports are partnering to host a monthlong bass fishing tournament with more than $1,500 in prizes on the line.
The Hooked on Northport Black Warrior River Spring Classic presented by Woods & Water is set to run from April 15th until May 15th and allow anglers to fish on their own time.
Free to enter and available for residents and visitors alike, the tournament is meant to highlight fishing opportunities on the Black Warrior River.
“The City of Northport is excited to launch this second fishing tournament in our community,” said Glenda Webb, city administrator for the City of Northport. “As a bass fishing tournament, the Hooked on Northport Black Warrior River Spring Classic presented by Woods & Water will highlight our convenient location on the Black Warrior River and will provide a fun and free opportunity for both residents and visitors to enjoy being outdoors.”
