My mom has been a registered nurse since she was 19 years old, and now she’s among the 19% of RN’s who are 65 or older.
The number of nurses retiring is one reason for a national shortage of nurses who staff our hospitals, doctors’ offices and home healthcare agencies.
One solution could be providing clinical instruction to area nursing schools free of charge. That reminds my mom of how she got her degree, learning through experience.
Because as we all age, we all will need more nurses.
