ACHD snow removal permits
During a snowstorm like the one yesterday, the Ada County Highway District prioritizes which streets to clear first, and residential ones are not high on the list. For those who want their neighborhood cleared faster, ACHD has another option, but it will likely cost you.
Citizens and private contractors can get a free Temporary Use Right-of-Way Permit from ACHD to plow residential streets. Typically, homeowners associations will hire contractors and then their neighborhood is cleared quicker.
In order to obtain a permit, applicants must have proof of liability insurance of at least $500,000. There are several other stipulations that are stated in the application.
