Northport Black Warrior River Bass Classic Kicks Off Tuesday

NORTHPORT, AL — Visit Tuscaloosa and the City of Northport this week announced the inaugural Hooked on Northport Black Warrior River Bass Classic online fishing tournament.

The free online fishing tournament will run through Dec. 15

“The City of Northport is excited to launch this new fishing tournament in our community,” Northport City Administrator Glenda Webb said. “As a bass fishing tournament, the Hooked on Northport Black Warrior River Bass Classic will highlight our convenient location on the Black Warrior River and will provide a new and fun opportunity for both residents and visitors to enjoy being outdoors.”

The catch-photo tournament will be facilitated by Fishing Chaos and will feature an open and high school division.

There will be over $3,000 in guaranteed prize money.

Anglers are asked to submit photos of their five longest black bass, which consists of Largemouth, Spotted, Bartram’s, Mean Mouth, Guadalupe, Shoal, and Smallmouth bass.
