PASCAGOULA, Mississippi — Two new state fishing records were certified in May by the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, including one set by a Jackson County man.

Phillip Overman of Pascagoula set a new state record for Smooth Puffer (Lagocephalus laevigatus) with a fish weighing in at 10 pounds.

The other certified record was for Rock Hind (Epinephelus adscensionis), with Trey Tinkle of Mountain View, Ark., setting the record with a 3 pound, 10.4 ounce catch.

Suspect wanted in Pascagoula kidnapping now in custody

PASCAGOULA, Mississippi — A 21-year-old man is in custody after being sought in a robbery and kidnapping case in Pascagoula.

Raheem Javerious Kimble, a transvestite who also goes by “Kimbrella Kimble,” was taken into custody Tuesday night and is in the Jackson County Adult Detention Center under bond totaling 101,100 for felony charges of robbery and kidnapping, plus two misdemeanor charges of failure to appear in court.
