LEXINGTON, OHIO – The Perry County Anglers traveled over three hours to reach Clear Fork Reservoir near Lexington, Ohio on Sunday, April 11, to hold their first bass fishing tournament of the year.

When the final fish had been weighed, most of the longtime members of the club found themselves watching “our children” dominate the day.

Twenty-two members fished the club’s opening effort on a cool, breezy day that dropped a downpour on our heads 30 minutes before the tournament’s end at 3 p.m. Only 10 anglers brought fish to the scales with 12 finishing without a keeper bass. Last year at Clear Fork, only one club member failed to land a keeper bass with four anglers bringing five bass limits to the weigh-in.

A different year with much different weather certainly produced a much different result. Jeff Redfern, the son of longtime member Fred Redfern, took home top honors…
