GLEN CARBON — A trio of sophomores is hoping to give Father McGivney its second state championship in bass fishing.
Blake Jones, Austin Callovini and Natalie Raymer will represent FMCHS in the state tournament, slated for Friday and Saturday at Carlyle Lake. They earned a trip to state with the program’s first sectional championship in the Coffeen Lake Sectional on May 2.

“Going to state is something I’ve wanted to do since my freshman year and I’m very happy to be able to make it my sophomore year,” Jones said. “Following in my brother’s footsteps obviously means a lot to me and it would mean a whole lot to bring home another state trophy.”
