From a brisk morning start to a sunny end, the SWIFT Bass Fishing Tournament was a success for the student anglers. Atlantic Trojan anglers Joaquin and Jake Wailes of Wiota reeled in the win in the Powerade High School Series yesterday. The brothers hauled in an impressive total of five fish weighing 13.84 pounds. The following places were Emmett King and AJ Draper who were runners-up with a total of 11.67 in second place. Third place went to Gavin Lindstrom and Black Schwartz with 10.53, and Atlantic’s Colton and Colin Rudy finished in fourth at 9.84, while Jarrett Hansen and Christian Thompson finished in fifth at 9.03.
In the junior competition, Colton and Kaden Frieze of Griswold had five fish at 9.63 pounds in first place. Runners-up were Riverside’s Colton Kruger and Woodbine’s Blake Siefken with 9.45 pounds.
